The Dogwood dog park in Jacksonville is the best place to take a dog for a wonderful saturday morning activity. These are pictures from my visit to the park on 25 August 2007. It was a particularly beautiful morning, moderate overcast, a nice break from the intrusive heat and sun. I find an overcast day beautiful because it provides ambient light conditions for photography. Starting at the top left, I will go right and work my way downwards, left to right.
One of the many pro-dog signs boldly proclaims that a wet dog is the most affectionate creature in the world. The wetness on the sign proves the recent rains. One of the big dogs gets into the classic play position, the cool sand enabling longer durations of activity. Laya plays in the doggy lake, her favourite spot to cool off, catch her breath and take off running again. She says 'Hi' to a doberman as he tries to woo the pretty hound. Roxy, dripping with lake water and happy looks for her play buddies. She did sport a pink collar. This old great dane surveys the land and tries to get his bearings. Laya waits in her play-stance for Roxy to finish playing with the beagle puppy. The white german shepherd cools off in the lake while keeping an eye on his master. Finally, a view of the lake with a fountain in it, the dogs look pleased, happy and at home.

Great topic. Love dogs.
Wow, wow-dogs say and I agree, cause this collage and your narrative gives a powerful vision of dog park and atmosphere!!!
We have a beach version of this on the weekends. I can't wait to photograph some of the puppies this Sunday. Very nice photos of the canines!
